Jan-Erik Henriksen, a member of the Birgejupmi project, participated in the ICES Annual Science Conference held from September 15–18, 2025 in Klaipeda, Litauen. This year marked a historic milestone for ICES, as the conference featured its first-ever dedicated Indigenous session.

He also held meetings with representatives from the Sámi Parliament and Indigenous researchers from First Nations communities, including those from Alaska—one of the fieldwork areas for Work Package 5 (WP5).
Birgejupmi was also represented by Inge Arne Eriksen, leader of BIVDU.
